The Benvenuto Players

We have been promoting English language theatre in the Province of Varese since 1986.

Our past shows have been devoted to such diverse topics as Shakespeare, poetry, pantomime, Murder Mystery and Music Hall. As well as putting on shows, the group runs a programme of workshops throughout the year and regularly holds play readings, featuring well known work from both English and non-English playwrights.

You don’t need to have any experience to join the group – just lots of enthusiasm, dedication and a good sense of humour. If acting really isn’t your thing, then there are many other ways that you can get involved with the group: publicity, sound and lighting, making props and the set, helping during a show, making costumes, prompting…. And perhaps the best thing of all about being involved in a show is the marvelous sense of achievement you get from working together. There really is “No Business Like Show Business”!

WHAT DO THE BENVENUTO PLAYERS DO?

WHAT IS THE LANGUAGE OF THE GROUP?

The working language of the group is English, but members are from many different countries. WHO CAN JOIN?

Anyone over the age of 11 can join – Juniors have their own production in the summer plus lots of activities during the year and the chance to join in some shows with adults..

DO YOU NEED ANYTHING SPECIAL TO JOIN THE GROUP?

The Benvenuto Players need more people in their technical team to work backstage, man the lighting and sound systems and just generally help out..

Huge fun but without the stage fright!.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never done it before, you will be shown what to do..

So if you’ve ever wanted to be involved in theatre, but not on the stage, this could be your chance.
